Bucks County Playhouse
The Bucks County Playhouse is a landmark nestled against the Delaware River in the historic, bohemian town of New Hope, PA. The playhouse is 72 years old. During that time span it has seen countless productions from off-broadway to the yearly halloween week productions of The Rocky Horror picture show. Icons like Liza Minnelli, Grace Kelly and Robert Redford have graced it's stage. It has also been damaged by a few major floods and spent the last few years for sale, after the previous owner mismanaged and neglected the property. He is currently under investigation for insurance fraud and other crimes. The site was purchased last month by a group looking to bring the playhouse back to it's glory days. Broadway producer Jed Bernstein, Kevin and Sherri Daugherty and their Bridge Street Foundation are leading the effort, however a lot of money is needed to renovate the structure and bring it back to life.
