We teamed up with the go-to source for modern classics, Design Within Reach, to mix business with pleasure in our first-ever Live/Work Design Contest. Rethinking Preservation
We believe that designing for the modern world begins with honoring the precedents of the past. So we joined forces with Sub-Zero to conceive a contest dedicated to rethinking preservation and you delivered! We posted 118 entries for popular vote and now a panel of judges is hard at work selecting from the top ten entries that received the most votes.
Marimekko Design Contest
To celebrate the recently launched US online store, the opening of the Manhattan flagship store, and to commemorate Marimekko’s 60th anniversary, Dwell teamed up with Marimekko to pay tribute to six decades of vibrant prints. Together we selected ten timeless designs and tasked you to vote on your favorite. One voter took home a $250 Marimekko gift card. It was a tough choice!

Methodology - A Competition
Dwell and method, two arbiters of style that aim for pride of place on your shelves, dared you to defy us with your concepts for upcycling, recycling, rethinking, and deconstructing—beginning with your empty method bottles. We were looking for ideas that gave method product bottles and packages a sexy second lease on life and you delivered.
